As of April 20th, 2026, BigLake is now called Lakehouse. BigLake metastore is now called the Lakehouse runtime catalog. Lakehouse APIs, client libraries, CLI commands, and IAM names remain unchanged and still reference BigLake.

Note: Google Cloud's Lakehouse is powered by the BigLake API.
To maintain backward compatibility for existing workloads, the underlying
programmatic surface retains its original naming. When using the
Google Cloud CLI, REST APIs, or client libraries, you will continue to use the
