Get support using Gemini Cloud Assist

Gemini Cloud Assist provides AI-powered assistance that can help you troubleshoot an issue or create a support case. You can choose to share your conversation details and diagnostic data with a support representative at any time. By summarizing environment states and logs, Gemini Cloud Assist can help you diagnose and resolve your case faster.

Before you begin

Before you can use Gemini Cloud Assist, your administrator must complete the following steps:

  1. Set up Gemini Cloud Assist for your folder or project.

Although support cases can only be created for Google Cloud organizations and projects, Gemini Cloud Assist is supported for folders as well as projects.

  2. Make sure that you have the appropriate permissions.

To support questions and requests about your Google Cloud resources, Gemini Cloud Assist needs the appropriate Identity and Access Management (IAM) permissions for those resources. Since Gemini Cloud Assist inherits your permissions when you prompt it, in many cases, the necessary IAM permissions are already granted.

Create a support case using Gemini Cloud Assist

  1. In the Google Cloud console, go to the Support > Cases page.

    Go to Cases

  2. Using the resource selector on the console toolbar, select the folder or project for which you'd like to create a support case.

  3. Click chat_spark Create case with Gemini.

    The Cloud Assist panel opens.

Gemini Cloud Assist can access information inside your cloud environment and provide the investigation results as context for a support case. You might be able to resolve your issue before escalating it to a human agent.

For more information, see Use Gemini Cloud Assist in the Google Cloud console.

  4. In the Cloud Assist panel, in the Enter a prompt field, describe your issue or ask your question, and then
    click send Send prompt.

  5. If you have a support package, you can request the creation of a support case at any point or, if you have Premium Support, you can click Contact support team.

The Create case form opens and any applicable fields are automatically pre-filled with information from your chat conversation.

If you prefer to manually create a case, click More actions > Create support case manually.

  6. If you haven't purchased a support package, the Basic Support package is provided to all Google Cloud customers and includes free billing and payments support. In the Enter a prompt field, you can ask a question related to billing. For more information, see Get Cloud Billing support.

If Gemini Cloud Assist is not enabled or is unavailable, you can still request assistance by creating a support case, or by contacting Customer Care. For more information, see Create and manage support cases.
